The Science of Mind, then, is the study of Life and
the nature of the laws of thought;
the conception that we live in a spiritual Universe.

Certificated Classes
These classes use the curriculum authorized by United Centers for Spiritual Living, and can lead the student to certification as a Professional Practitioner. The beginning class is “Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life,” and is required before any of the other certificated class can be taken.
Short Courses generally run from 4-6 weeks and are generally less costly than the formal classes. They are available to anyone, with no prerequisites.
Why Take Classes?
There are really two reasons to sign up for a class:
· To become masterful at using the principles of the Science of Mind philosophy
· To develop life-long friendships with like-minded people
The classes listed in this catalog are certificated by United Centers for Spiritual Living. For those who choose, these classes create a path toward becoming a Professional Practitioner.
We highly encourage you to sign up for a class. When you do you will treat yourself to the chance to make your life the glorious adventure it ought to be.
Cost of Certificated Classes
The cost for the classes is based on the number of contact hours in the class, at a rate of $20 per three-hour class. So a ten-week class would cost $200, plus a $20 fee for the student handbook. Course texts are not included in this cost.
The cost for short courses is set by the course instructor. Scholarships are not available for short courses.
Scholarships
A percentage of the tuition for all certificated classes is set aside for student scholarships. Scholarships never cover the entire cost of a course, because it’s important for you, in order to obtain full benefit from the class, to contribute financially to the experience. The Center awards scholarships under the following conditions:
· Scholarship applications are accepted only within the first two weeks of a class.
· All scholarship awards must be approved by the Education Core
· Only Members of the Center will be given scholarships.
· Scholarship candidates must be actively involved as volunteers prior to receiving scholarship funds.
· Scholarship recipients must be contributing financially to the Center.
· No scholarships will apply at the level of Practitioner Training.
· Up to 50% of the class fees (minus the registration fees and the cost of the workbook if there is one) may be awarded. If you receive a scholarship, your cost will be 50% of the class fee plus $45 registration fee and $20 workbook cost. For a ten-week class, the scholarship amount is $77.50 and your cost is $142.50.
· All awards are based on availability of funds in the Scholarship Fund.
· Scholarship awards will be available for up to 90 days after the end of the class in which it was awarded. If the class is not completed within that 90 day period, the funds are returned to the scholarship fund
