The Sunday Lobby Team welcomes attendees with food, information, smiles, and hugs. They offer name tags, sign-up sheets for the newsletter and classes, a prayer request box, welcome packets, Science of Mind magazines and brochures, and of course, coffee and cookies!
The Communications Team helps our congregation stay informed about all our classes, workshops, events and other announcements as well as helping to market our Center to the broader community.
The Audio-Visual Team consists of paid professionals and volunteers who manage our sound and lights for our in-person service and produce the live streaming and recordings of our service for our virtual audience
The Events Team creates and supports events where people can find meaningful spiritual community and play and work with like-minded people.
The Salt Lake Center for Spiritual Living Youth Ministry empowers and inspires children in a safe and nurturing environment. We use books, music and creative projects to teach principles such as Love, Creativity, Affirmation, Nature, Community, Mindfulness, Giving and Receiving.
The Education Team organizes classes and workshops, and schedules our guest speakers. They also make sure that our social events, concerts, and advertisements are in keeping with the Science of Mind message. The Education Team’s vision is a world grounded in peace and harmoniously working together. Their mission is to provide safe and structured learning opportunities that apply spiritual practices as taught in the Science of Mind, to real-world examples.
The Music Team and Special Music guests are usually paid professional musicians. If you are a professional-level musician and would like to offer your skills to our Sunday Service or special week-night services, please contact our Music Director, Ric Sharette, through the contact form on the Contact page.
Our former choir was comprised of volunteer singers. We have plans to bring back the choir at some point. If you would like to help to make this happen, let us know!
As Sunday Celebration Coordinator, Linda coordinates the schedules of the Service Hosts, Practitioners and Speakers involved in our Sunday Service. She also trains and leads the Service Hosts.
The visioning team uses the Visioning Process to identify the highest vision for our Center. The Visioning Process uses prayer and meditation to tap into Divine Mind, which isn’t bound by our individual minds’ hidden beliefs of lack and limitation. Each month the Visioning Team focuses on a different aspect of the Center, and they share the results with all the Center leadership.
Practitioners study affirmative prayer and all the principles within the Science of Mind philosophy for 4 years. They also pursue continuing education and provide service to our Center in order to be re-licensed every two years. If you would like to become a Practitioner, check out our certificated classes.
The Ministry Council is made up of representatives from all of the ministries listed above. They coordinate all ministry efforts and make large ministry decisions together.
The Board of Trustees takes care of our finances, affiliation with Centers for Spiritual Living, and legal and safety issues. Board members serve three-year terms.
