Taizé is a deeply spiritual experience which for eighty years has brought together people from all cultures and denominations. It is a sign of hope in a divided world and it has brought new life to churches throughout the world.
Prayer and silence are at the heart of the Taizé experience. People from every corner of the globe are encouraged to live this sacred experience in a spirit of joy, simplicity, and reconciliation.
In these challenging times Taize’ can bring peace and equanimity to the world.
March 8, 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Salt Lake Center for Spiritual Living, known then as the First Church of Religious Science.
We would love to honor the anniversary with a big party like we did for our 40thanniversary but in our current situation that is not yet possible.
In honor of our anniversary, Rev. Donald Graves will offer our message on Sunday, March 7th VIRTUALLY.
We then hope by mid-summer to be able to have a celebration weekend with workshops and a big party.
If you would like to volunteer to serve on the committee to plan that celebration, please send an email to office.assistant@spirituallyfree.org.
Rob Eckman has graciously volunteered to head up that committee.
Dear Spiritual Family,
On January 31, 2021 we again opened for in-person services! Our goal is to welcome you to participate in our service and to provide a safe environment for our speakers, musicians, volunteers and our congregants. We need your help! Please read and follow the safety procedures below. Thank you for your cooperation.
ARRIVAL TIME
Please arrive by 10:10am and line up 6 feet apart outside. We have plenty of room to accommodate many more people than have currently been coming, so we hope if concern about being able to get in has kept you away, that you will join us. It's much more fun when we are in the same room together.
FACE COVERING
All attendees will be required to wear a face covering the entire time they are in the building. Current guidelines given the new variants, suggest a 2-3 layer mask or wearing two masks.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
To ensure social distancing, there will be no congregating in the building. Chairs will be arranged to provide social distancing between household groups. Attendees will be asked to enter and exit with 6 foot spacing. Food and beverage services will not be provided.
CHILDREN
There will be no Youth Church but children are welcome to be seated along with your household.
Thank you for honoring these safety measures and for participating in our Celebration Service. We look forward to seeing you!
Love and Light,
Salt Lake Center for Spiritual Living
Dear CSL Community,
On January 6, at 12:00 p.m. PST, our Executive Team called an emergency meeting to respond to the events in the United States Capitol. After the meeting, I went on Facebook Live to offer a prayer for peace based on our founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes’s meditations. You may find the Facebook Live broadcast here:
