This year, along with local artists and musicians, we have Eugene Holden, RScP and Dr. Walter & Barbara Doern Drew flying in to facilitate some very special events designed to nourish us spiritually and connect us in community. We warmly welcome our neighbors in and around Salt Lake to come enjoy these very special events with us.
This is our annual celebration - a time for spiritual renewal before our Annual Meeting. Grounded in vision, and awakened to greater possibilities, we will make decisions together for the future of our Center.
Please review the order of events below. Note that there is no cost to participate in the Saturday Lunch/Q&A about proposed bylaws, or any of the Sunday events, including a light lunch and the Annual Meeting.
Guests are encouraged to attend any or all of these events. We are an open, welcoming community, celebrating our divinity, loving our humanity, and nurturing our journey of spiritual discovery. We look forward to meeting you!

Paint Night is a guided painting experience where you'll have your own canvas, and a professional painter will teach the whole class how to create their own rendition of a specific painting.
Last year our Paint Night was so successful, we've brought it back by popular demand! Our artist this year created a custom image just for us, called "Sunrise Over the Ocean". It expresses our theme: "I'm waking up to all this love!" If you've never painted before, you'll be delighted to discover what you can create.
Although each student is working with the same basic instructions, individual creativity always shows up. It's a heart-expanding experience to look around at the end and see how we all interpret things just a little differently, and each expression is beautiful. It's a very intuitive, right-brained way of learning a little bit more about each other.
We will be working with calming blues and energizing yellows; Textured water, and expansive sky. It's the perfect way to begin our weekend, contemplating "waking up to all this love" in a non-verbal, tactile way. Spending time with the image of a shining sunrise, feeling paint on our fingers and the pressure of a brush on canvas, is the perfect way to slow down and become grounded in that felt-sense of who we are and what we are choosing to create.
Amanda teaches art to children and adults because she believes that everyone has it in them to create fantastic things. She provides tools which help people express themselves and share with others who they are and how they see the world. She loves watching her students find their own ways of exploring their feelings, beliefs, and passions.
...And, yes, she is Ric Sharette's daughter! When she got pregnant with her second child, she finally decided it was time to come home from Germany to be near family. You may have heard her sing with her brothers at the Center.
Aside from teaching art, Amanda also paints wildlife and landscapes. She has a deep passion for birds and the natural world. She volunteers with two local wildlife conservation organizations, HawkWatch International and the Great Salt Lake Audubon, where she is a member of the Board and leads the Education Committee.

Chamaigne is a life-long performer. While her focus has been on New Thought sing-along music, her first love was the early music of Barbra Streisand. Like Barbra, Chamaigne's favorite songwriting team is Alan & Marilyn Bergman (lyrics) and Michel Legrand (music). If you love their music, you'll love hearing Chamaigne set the mood with these delicious tunes.
You'll recognize at least one member of The Ravens - our very own Lezlee Monroe, frequent Special Music Guest, CSL Choir Accompanist, and the Music Director at the Satya Center in Ogden.

DownloadMel Soul is a singer/songwriter from Orem, UT. She has been trained by vocal professionals, Rebecca Chock and Mindy Pack. In 2009 she had the extraordinary opportunity to sing with her high school's Chamber Singers at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
After high school, Mel began working with songwriter professionals including Rich Parkinson, Shane Adams, Johnny London and most recently, the talented Natasha Bedingfield. Her goal as a songwriter and performer is to inspire her fans to love themselves and everyone else.
DelAnne Haslam and Mel Menlove
Melanie Menlove has enjoyed singing with her little sister, DelAnne, for the past 40 years. Music has always been where she finds peace and her breath and inspiration. In her free time, Melanie loves to get dirt under her fingernails, play a good game of cards and travel with her husband. She is a poet, composer, photographer and Lord of the Rings fanatic. She lives with her husband and trio of animals that includes a bossy parrot.”
DelAnne Haslam was born the youngest of five and at age 3 began performing with the family band The Jessop Family Singers. She hasn’t stopped performing since. She loves to sing all genres of music and has sung in children’s groups, choirs, commercials, operas, plays, sporting events, and bands. But her favorite gig is singing with The Center for Spiritual Living Band every Sunday morning.
DelAnne was introduced to the Center For Spiritual Living in 2014 when she and her sister were looking to add some spiritual community into their lives. Ric and the band kept them coming back long enough to hear the Science of Mind message and she was hooked. She took the foundations class and a few other courses and then began singing with Kopo on Sundays in 2015. She even spent a few months as music director before she took a much-needed hiatus in 2016. In 2017 Ric invited her back as special music and then invited her to stay on with the band.
"I was ecstatic and feel so blessed to sing with my community of spiritual friends each week."
